This year is the 90th Anniversary of the Village Hall. Many of you will already be aware that we have an opportunity to replace and upgrade the hall to ensure it’s future and be a more active hub for everyone in the village. We are raising funds to make this happen and one part of this activity is the monthly 50/50 Club Prize Draw. We would love as many villagers, family and friends as possible to join in.
What is the 50/50 Club? The 50/50 Club is a monthly prize draw run by the Wixford Village Hall committee where 50% of cash generated is used for monthly prizes with 50% going to the Village Hall funds. The programme for replacement of the Village Hall with a new modern facility has meant that a focus on fundraising is now all the more important.
How does it work? Each member pays £18 for a 50/50 draw number for the year, equivalent to £1.50 per month, giving you the chance to win cash in our monthly cash draw. There is no limit on the amount of numbers you can buy and no maximum or minimum number of participants; it is just £18 per year for each draw number.
How much could I win? This will depend on the number of draw numbers sold and the greater the number of participants, the greater the prize fund and the value of the monthly draw.
Who can join? Anyone aged 16 or over can join with membership being open to all, Wixford residents and beyond including any friends and relative who might want to support the Village Hall.
What do I have to do to enter? There are two ways that you can enter.
a) You can do this on-line by completing the on-line form found at
https://forms.gle/wQLu2FvPiC5x67ju9 and arranging payment via a bank transfer (BACS).
b) You can call John Ballard, Treasurer (01789 490254) with your details and pay by card over
the phone.
c) Alternatively, you can fill out the form attached and return it to John Ballard, Treasurer at
Orchard Lawns, Wixford, Alcester B49 6DA or have it collected by ringing John Ballard
(01789 490254) or John Cain (01789 490743).
For payment you can (ideally) make a bank transfer. If you are unable to do this, enclose a cheque or cash with the returned form. At this time we would prefer to not deal with too much in the way of cash or cheques but we do understand that some people prefer to do so and we can certainly accommodate that.
Please ensure that we have your details before Friday, 31st July 2020 so that you can be entered into the draws from August this year.
When will the prize be drawn? Prizes are drawn at the monthly meeting of the Village Hall Committee.
How will I be notified? Winning members will be notified by telephone, email, or text. You can choose to receive your prize by bank transfer or by cheque. If a winner cannot be contacted, the winnings will be placed into Village Hall funds after six months.
